Role Description The Senior Enterprise Data Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Pompano Beach, FL. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise data pipelines and integrations that support clinical, operational, and analytics needs across Broward Health. Day-to-day responsibilities include modeling and optimizing data structures, developing ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data quality and governance, and collaborating with IT, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. The Senior Enterprise Data Engineer will monitor data workflows, troubleshoot performance issues, implement best practices for security and compliance, and contribute to the ongoing modernization of Broward Health’s data platforms.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in data engineering, including data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and building scalable data pipelines.
Proficiency with modern data platforms and tools (e.g., cloud data warehouses, relational databases, big data frameworks, and data integration tools).
Strong skills in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (such as Python or Java).
Experience implementing data quality, data governance, and security standards in an enterprise environment.
Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, translating business and clinical requirements into technical data solutions.
Background in healthcare data, EMR/EHR systems, or clinical informatics is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Proven track record in a senior or lead data engineering role, with strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
