- The company provides healthcare services including acute care, palliative care, and home care. Its technical team is expanding data ingestion capabilities using a modern Azure-based technology stack.
- About the Role
- The Data Engineer will support the development of data ingestion pipelines and third-party API integrations within a healthcare environment. The role involves working with HL7, Azure Data Factory, Python, and SSIS to process healthcare claims and clinical data, transform source data into relational database objects, and collaborate with other members of the technical team.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience with enterprise data integration tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and Python
- Experience reading healthcare claims and clinical data in XML, HL7, and JSON formats
- Experience converting healthcare data into relational database objects
- 3+ years of experience working with relational databases
- Familiarity with SQL and MySQL
- Experience with data structures, stored procedures, functions, and views
- Understanding of version control concepts
- Familiarity with visualization tools such as Power BI and SSRS
- Familiarity with CMS and Value-Based Care programs such as MSSP and ACO REACH is preferred
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR is preferred
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and GitHub is preferred
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies is preferred
- 3+ years of experience with HL7 message parsing is preferred
