## About the Role
The Data Engineer / AI/ML Specialist will own the design and delivery of data pipelines, AI/ML integrations, and supporting infrastructure for an AI-powered EHR MVP. The role focuses on healthcare document processing, data transformation, search indexing, LLM and RAG integration, predictive analytics, compliance AI, and secure cloud-based data solutions. The position works closely with solution architects, backend/API developers, and cross-functional product teams.
## Qualifications
- * Hands-on experience with OCR, including Azure Form Recognizer or Azure Document Intelligence
- * Experience processing unstructured data
- * Strong Python programming skills
- * Experience integrating LLMs such as Azure OpenAI using RAG patterns
- * Knowledge of classification and regression techniques
- * Understanding of healthcare data compliance requirements
- * Proficiency with REST APIs
- * Understanding of HIPAA and secure handling of Protected Health Information (PHI)
- * Familiarity with healthcare data formats and workflows such as HL7, FHIR, and eMAR
- * Experience working in Agile, cross-functional product teams
- * Ability to deliver end-to-end solutions from data ingestion through model integration and API exposure
- * Strong documentation and knowledge transfer skills
- * Healthcare software development experience preferred
- * Familiarity with vector search and semantic search preferred
- * Experience with Azure Machine Learning preferred
- * Experience with predictive analytics for healthcare outcomes preferred
