About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Phaxis. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reliable data pipelines and analytics solutions that support our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python, SQL, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and Business Intelligence tools. You will collaborate closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to transform raw data into accurate, actionable insights. Your contributions will be critical in ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of our data infrastructure, enabling us to deliver high-quality data products and reports that support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Python programming for data engineering tasks.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and query optimization techniques.
• Hands-on experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience working with BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Knowledge of data modeling, data quality standards, and database performance tuning.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, familiarity with tools such as Spark, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, or Databricks, and knowledge of modern data architecture and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, efficient data pipelines using Python and SQL to support analytics and reporting needs.
• Design, build, and optimize data warehouses, databases, and data models to ensure high performance and data integrity.
• Create and manage ETL/ELT processes to extract data from various sources, transform it, and load it into target systems.
• Write complex SQL queries for data transformation, analysis, and reporting purposes.
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with relevant standards and policies.
• Support the development and maintenance of Business Intelligence dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Collaborate with data analysts and business teams to gather and understand data requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues, implementing improvements as needed.
• Automate routine data processing and reporting tasks to enhance efficiency.
• Document data pipelines, processes, data models, and related procedures for ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing.
