Data Center Engineer

• Network Engineer – Data Center
• Onsite in Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) (Midvale, West Jordan area south of Salt Lake City)
• 6 month contract, potential for Contract to Hire
• CDW is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a high-performing infrastructure team responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments across data center, branch, and cloud platforms. This role will play a key part in a major SD-WAN initiative and network modernization effort, while also supporting day-to-day operations and participating in an on-call rotation.

• What You'll Do
• Design and support scalable, secure, high-availability network infrastructure.
• Lead and contribute to network modernization, SD-WAN, and data center initiatives.
• Deploy and support Spine-Leaf architectures utilizing Cisco Nexus, VXLAN, and EVPN.
• Configure and troubleshoot advanced routing protocols including BGP and OSPF.
• Support cloud-managed networking solutions, including Cisco Meraki, switching, and wireless technologies.
• Develop network automation using Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership on complex networking challenges.
• Participate in operational support and on-call responsibilities.

• Required Qualifications
• 8+ years of network engineering experience.
• Deep expertise with Cisco Nexus, Spine-Leaf architectures, VXLAN, and EVPN.
• Strong experience with BGP, OSPF, data center networking, and enterprise routing/switching.
• Experience with SD-WAN, cloud-managed networking, and wireless solutions.
• Hands-on network automation experience using scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Preferred

• CCNP, CCIE, or other advanced networking certifications.
• Experience supporting AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Knowledge of security, load balancing, virtualization, containerization, and DDoS protection technologies.
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, Grafana, Prometheus, and Wireshark.
