We are seeking an experienced Data Center Controls Quality Engineer to provide technical and project leadership across large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects.
This is not a traditional controls programming role. We're looking for someone who understands controls technically but has progressed into project leadership, commissioning, contractor oversight, quality, and issue resolution.
What You'll Do
Serve as the owner's representative for controls quality across data center construction projects.
Lead and coordinate General Contractors, Controls System Integrators, commissioning teams, vendors, and engineering partners.
Oversee BMS, EPMS, HVAC controls, PLC, instrumentation, and SCADA implementation.
Drive projects through construction, startup, commissioning, deficiency resolution, and turnover.
Support FWT, SAT, IST, startup readiness, witness testing, and commissioning activities.
Identify installation, integration, redundancy, and reliability risks and drive corrective actions through closure.
Hold contractors and system integrators accountable for quality, scope, schedule, and performance.
Lead cross-functional meetings and communicate technical risks and solutions to both engineering and leadership teams.
What We're Looking For
7+ years of experience in data centers, mission-critical construction, controls engineering, commissioning, or related complex infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of BMS, EPMS, HVAC controls, PLCs, instrumentation, control loops, and SCADA.
Experience supporting controls through the construction and commissioning lifecycle.
Proven ability to lead contractors, system integrators, vendors, and cross-functional project teams.
Strong understanding of mission-critical infrastructure, redundancy, reliability, and system integration.
Excellent communication, project leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent applicable experience.
Ability to travel based on active project needs.
