Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Windchill Data Migration Lead to manage end-to-end Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) data migration within PTC Windchill. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with migration strategy, data extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation.
The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, technical teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure accurate, secure, and successful migration of PLM data.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end PLM data migration, including planning, scope definition, migration strategy, scheduling, risk management, and execution.
Analyze source and target data models and define mapping and transformation rules for parts, Bills of Materials (BOMs), CAD documents, change notices, and related PLM objects.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading using Windchill Business Migration (WBM), custom Java APIs, SQL scripts, and other relevant utilities.
Identify and resolve data quality issues, duplicate records, broken object relationships, and migration discrepancies.
Conduct pre-migration and post-migration validation, data reconciliation, and quality checks.
Support migration from non-PLM systems to Windchill, including site consolidation initiatives.
Collaborate with business users, functional analysts, IT infrastructure teams, and migration teams.
Apply data migration methodologies, transformation techniques, validation processes, and scripting to automate migration activities.
Monitor migration progress, manage risks and dependencies, and maintain migration documentation.
Ensure migrated data meets business requirements, technical standards, and data integrity expectations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
8–10 years of relevant experience, including hands-on PLM data migration in a PTC Windchill environment.
Strong understanding of Windchill data models, workflows, configurations, and migration utilities.
Hands-on experience with Windchill Business Migration (WBM), Java APIs, SQL, and scripting languages.
Expertise in data extraction, transformation, loading, data mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
Experience migrating PLM objects such as parts, BOMs, CAD documents, and change notices.
Knowledge of site consolidation tools, processes, and migration methodologies.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the medical device industry or regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience migrating data from non-PLM systems into PTC Windchill.
Relevant PLM, Windchill, or data management certifications.
