Role Description The VP of Data Retention Compliance is a full-time, remote position responsible for leading the design, implementation, and oversight of data retention and records management frameworks across ECS and client engagements. This role oversees the development of policies and procedures that ensure adherence to applicable capital market regulations, data privacy requirements, and internal governance standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting compliance risk assessments, mapping regulatory requirements to data retention practices, and reviewing data storage, archiving, and destruction processes for alignment with best practices. The VP will collaborate with legal, technology, risk, and advisory teams to integrate data retention controls into business workflows, provide training and guidance to staff and clients, and prepare documentation and reports for regulators and senior leadership. The role also involves monitoring regulatory developments, updating data retention strategies accordingly, and driving continuous improvement in compliance operations and data governance.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance, with a focus on data retention, records management, and governance frameworks.
Strong Analytical Skills applied to interpreting complex regulations, assessing compliance risks, and designing practical control mechanisms.
Background in Finance and Financial Services, ideally within capital markets, investment advisory, or regulatory environments.
Experience developing and implementing data governance, information security, or privacy programs in regulated industries.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
Advanced degree in law, finance, business, information management, or a related field preferred; relevant professional certifications (e.g., compliance, data privacy, risk management) are an advantage.
Comfort working remotely across time zones, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical, impact-driven work.
