Tax Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Analyst with experience in Sales & Use Tax to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with state and local indirect tax regulations, preparing tax filings, researching tax issues, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.

• Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, review, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual Sales & Use Tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
• Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance with state and local tax regulations.
• Research and interpret Sales & Use Tax laws, regulations, and taxability rules.
• Reconcile tax accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Support tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Review invoices and transactions to ensure accurate tax application.
• Maintain exemption certificates and monitor compliance.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance, and Operations to resolve tax-related issues.
• Assist with tax process improvements, automation initiatives, and system testing.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting indirect taxes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in Sales & Use Tax compliance.
• Strong understanding of multi-state Sales & Use Tax regulations.
• Experience preparing tax returns and supporting tax audits.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) preferred.
• Experience with tax automation software such as Vertex, Avalara, or OneSource is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
