- Title: Strategic IT Procurement & Sourcing Specialist
- Location: Holyoke, MA
- Duration: 6 months contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing
- Serve as a procurement partner for IT-related spend categories, including software, SaaS, hardware, cloud services, telecommunications, and professional services.
- Support sourcing activities across additional indirect and direct spend categories as needed.
- Lead and support RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, and competitive bidding events.
- Negotiate pricing, contract terms, statements of work, and renewals to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers, contracts, and renewals across the organization to leverage purchasing volume and improve pricing.
- Conduct spend analysis, market research, and supplier benchmarking to support sourcing decisions.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, service, and business requirements.
- Support supplier performance management and relationship development.
- Purchasing Operations
- Create, review, and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage purchase order revisions, change orders, amendments, and closeout activities.
- Facilitate contract renewals and amendments while ensuring compliance with procurement requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, pricing information, contracts, and supplier documentation.
- Coordinate with Accounts Payable, Legal, Finance, and suppliers to resolve purchasing, invoicing, and contract-related issues.
- Monitor open purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up and completion.
- Support procurement reporting, spend analysis, savings tracking, and supplier metrics.
- Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, and strategic sourcing experience, with a strong preference for technology-related products and services, including software, SaaS, hardware, cloud services, and professional services.
- Demonstrated negotiation and supplier management expertise, with a proven ability to secure favorable pricing, contract terms, and measurable cost savings.
- Experience reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts, renewals, amendments, and supplier agreements, while identifying opportunities for spend consolidation, supplier rationalization, and procurement optimization.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner with IT and business stakeholders while balancing operational needs, risk, and cost objectives.
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and organized, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, sourcing initiatives, and procurement transactions simultaneously.
- Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office applications, including experience supporting purchasing operations such as requisitions, purchase orders, and spend analysis.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of software licensing models, SaaS agreements, cloud services, and IT supplier ecosystems.
- Experience supporting procurement transformation or centralization initiatives.
- Familiarity with supplier relationship management and procurement best practices.
