Role Description
The Software Tester / QA Analyst / Automation Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products throughout the development lifecycle. This role focuses on testing applications, identifying defects, validating system functionality, and implementing automation solutions that improve software quality and delivery efficiency.
You will develop and execute test plans, test cases, and testing strategies to evaluate software applications across web, mobile, desktop, and backend environments. The role involves analyzing business requirements and technical specifications to ensure software meets expected functionality and user requirements.
A key responsibility is identifying, documenting, tracking, and verifying software defects. You will work closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and engineering teams to investigate issues, validate fixes, and support successful software releases.
This position also involves performing functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, system testing, API testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT). In addition, you will design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks that improve testing coverage, accuracy, and efficiency.
Furthermore, the Software Tester / QA Analyst / Automation Engineer contributes to continuous integration and delivery processes by supporting automated quality checks, improving testing methodologies, and promoting best practices for software quality across development teams.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of software testing principles and quality assurance methodologies
Knowledge of manual testing and test automation practices
Ability to design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify, document, and manage software defects effectively
Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, API, performance, and UAT testing
Familiarity with automation testing tools and frameworks
Basic programming or scripting knowledge for automation development
Strong attention to detail and commitment to software quality
Ability to analyze business requirements and validate application functionality
Excellent communication and technical documentation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
