About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Project Analyst to join our Facility Planning & Controls Unit. In this pivotal role, you will oversee project management activities related to the Spent Fuel Handling Project (SFHP) at the Naval Reactors Facility (NRF). As part of a cross-site team, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining project management processes, tools, and systems, including the Integrated Master Schedule, Open Items tracking, Earned Value Management Software, and Risk & Opportunity Management frameworks. Your expertise will be instrumental in generating detailed reports, analyzing project data, assessing performance metrics, and supporting decision-making processes. You will facilitate project and process meetings, prepare and present periodic reviews to management and stakeholders, and recommend resource allocations to optimize project execution. Additionally, you will provide mentorship and training to project team members and stakeholders, ensuring best practices are followed and project objectives are met efficiently. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a master's degree in a related field with at least 7 years of pertinent experience is acceptable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in project management, specifically within construction or production support environments. Professional certifications such as Primavera (P6), Project Management Professional (PMI), or IBM are highly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams) and Power BI is essential. Experience with construction projects, risk management, earned value management systems, and project scheduling tools will significantly enhance candidacy. The successful applicant must exhibit excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to coordinate complex projects across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include managing and maintaining project management systems, generating comprehensive reports, and analyzing project performance data to identify issues and opportunities for improvement. You will coordinate and facilitate project meetings, support the preparation and delivery of periodic project reviews, and communicate project status effectively to stakeholders. Your role will involve assessing resource needs and recommending skills or personnel required to support project success. You will support current and new contracts, ensuring compliance with project standards and requirements. Mentoring and training project team members and stakeholders will be vital to maintaining high performance standards. Additionally, you will oversee risk management activities, track open items, and support the integration of performance measurement tools to ensure projects stay on schedule, within scope, and within budget. Your expertise will help drive continuous improvement in project execution and contribute to the overall safety and reliability of nuclear operations.
