  • About Digital Harbor
  • Digital Harbor is a leading innovator in Composite Risk & Compliance solutions, supporting major U.S. financial institutions, government agencies, and healthcare organizations. Our platform delivers real-time analytics, case management, workflow, and dashboard technologies that help organizations manage complex business processes and risk.

As we expand our enterprise software and AI-driven capabilities, we are looking for product-focused professionals passionate about solving business problems, improving software experiences, and delivering measurable customer value.

  • About the Role
  • Digital Harbor is seeking a mid-level Product Business Analyst who combines strong business analysis capabilities with a developing Product Management mindset.

This position is particularly well suited for someone who has built a strong foundation in business analysis, product analysis, product ownership, or software solutions and is aspiring to grow into a Product Manager role. You will gain hands-on Product Management experience by helping shape product priorities, owning portions of the backlog and roadmap, analyzing customer and product data, recommending product improvements, and driving solutions from discovery through delivery and validation.

  • This is not a traditional requirements-gathering Business Analyst position. We are looking for someone who wants to think and operate increasingly like a Product Manager—asking why a problem matters, using customer feedback and data to inform decisions, proactively identifying opportunities, considering broader product impact, and taking ownership of product outcomes.
  • At the same time, you should be comfortable getting into the details of user stories, workflows, business rules, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and edge cases to give Engineering and QA the clarity needed to deliver successfully.

What You'll Do

  • Product Management & Analysis
  • Partner with customers, Product Management, Customer Success, Engineering, QA, UX/UI, and business stakeholders to identify customer problems, operational needs, and product opportunities.
  • Understand the underlying business problem behind customer and stakeholder requests rather than simply translating requests into features.
  • Analyze product usage, customer feedback, workflows, operational metrics, defects, and business processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Own and maintain portions of the product backlog and roadmap in alignment with broader product and business objectives.
  • Support prioritization by evaluating customer value, business impact, urgency, effort, dependencies, risks, and available data.
  • Proactively recommend product enhancements, workflow automation, AI-enabled capabilities, and other improvements that increase customer or operational value.
  • Consider both immediate customer needs and the broader impact of product decisions across customers and the platform.
  • Requirements & Solution Definition
  • Translate customer and business needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
  • Develop user stories, use cases, process flows, business rules, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Define expected system behavior, business outcomes, exceptions, edge cases, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure proposed solutions are understood and technically feasible before development begins.
  • Identify requirement gaps, conflicts, risks, and unanswered questions early in the development lifecycle.
  • Refine requirements as new information becomes available while maintaining alignment with the original business objective.
  • Ensure stories entering development are sufficiently defined for Engineering and QA to execute with minimal unnecessary clarification or rework.
  • Data-Driven Product Ownership
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform product recommendations and prioritization.
  • Track and analyze product KPIs, including usage, engagement, adoption, defect trends, cycle time, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Define measurable success criteria for significant product enhancements and evaluate whether delivered functionality achieved its intended outcome.
  • Develop recommendations supported by customer impact, operational efficiency, risk reduction, product data, or other measurable business value.
  • Clearly connect product changes to resulting customer and business outcomes.
  • Agile Product Delivery
  • Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, design discussions, demonstrations, and release planning.
  • Provide ongoing product and requirements clarification to Engineering and QA throughout development.
  • Evaluate proposed changes during development and identify impacts to scope, requirements, dependencies, timelines, and customer outcomes.
  • Partner with QA and business stakeholders to validate that delivered functionality satisfies requirements and solves the intended problem.
  • Support functional testing, demonstrations, and business acceptance activities as needed.
  • Analyze defects to distinguish between software defects, requirement gaps, configuration issues, and expected product behavior.
  • Apply lessons learned from releases, defects, customer feedback, and product performance to improve future product decisions and requirements.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Build strong working relationships across Product Management, Engineering, QA, UX/UI, Customer Success, leadership, and customer teams.
  • Participate in and facilitate discovery sessions, requirements workshops, and product discussions with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Communicate complex business and technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Articulate the story behind product enhancements: the problem being solved, why it matters, what is changing, and how success will be measured.
  • Identify and escalate risks with a clear explanation of the issue, potential impact, options, and recommended course of action.
  • Take accountability for assigned initiatives and product areas from discovery through delivery and validation.

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of recent experience in Business Analysis, Product Analysis, Product Ownership, Assistant Product Management, Product Management, Software Solutions Analysis, or a related software/product role.
  • Experience working with software products and translating customer or business problems into product solutions.
  • Experience developing user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, business rules, or functional requirements.
  • Experience partnering with software Engineering and QA teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using data to inform product decisions.
  • Ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into clear product and system requirements.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Strong customer orientation and ability to understand problems from the end-user perspective.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify software, product, or process improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong ownership and accountability.
  • Strong interest in developing Product Management skills and growing into greater product ownership and leadership responsibilities.
  • Interest in software innovation, AI technologies, automation, and modern product development.

Preferred

  • Experience with enterprise SaaS or complex configurable software products.
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers.
  • Experience with workflow, case management, dashboards, analytics, business intelligence, enterprise portals, or risk/compliance solutions.
  • Experience using product analytics, operational metrics, or customer data to support product decisions.
  • Experience with AI-enabled business applications, automation, analytics tools, or Rapid Application Development platforms.
  • Experience within healthcare, government, financial services, compliance, risk management, or another regulated environment.
  • Business consulting or customer-facing software implementation experience.
  • What Success Looks Like
  • A successful Product Business Analyst at Digital Harbor:
  • Thinks beyond traditional business analysis and develops a strong Product Management mindset.
  • Understands the problem before defining the solution and considers how individual requests fit into the broader product.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve products, workflows, automation, usability, and customer outcomes.
  • Uses data, customer impact, business value, and measurable outcomes to support recommendations and priorities.
  • Creates clear, actionable requirements that allow Engineering and QA to execute with minimal unnecessary clarification or rework.
  • Identifies gaps, dependencies, edge cases, assumptions, and risks before they become development or production issues.
  • Takes ownership of assigned product initiatives from discovery through delivery and validation.
  • Demonstrates increasing ability to independently evaluate product opportunities, make recommendations, and take on greater Product Management responsibilities.
  • Builds credibility across customers, Product Management, Engineering, QA, and other stakeholders.
  • Equal Employment Opportunity
  • Digital Harbor is an equal opportunity employer. We provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
