Junior Data Analyst – Role Description & Qualifications
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Junior Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making through data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate should possess strong quantitative skills, attention to detail, and a passion for transforming data into meaningful insights that help drive business performance and strategic initiatives.
The Junior Data Analyst will be responsible for gathering, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data from various sources to support business operations, reporting requirements, and performance improvement initiatives. This role requires critical thinking, technical proficiency, and the ability to communicate analytical findings clearly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, clean, organize, and validate data from multiple sources.
Analyze datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and business opportunities.
Prepare reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for stakeholders.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and support performance tracking.
Assist in developing and maintaining databases, spreadsheets, and reporting systems.
Conduct data quality checks and ensure accuracy and consistency across reports.
Support forecasting, planning, and business performance analysis activities.
Collaborate with departments to understand reporting requirements and business needs.
Present findings and recommendations through reports and presentations.
Document analytical methodologies, processes, and reporting procedures.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions.
Basic knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
Ability to interpret data and communicate findings effectively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Eagerness to learn new analytical tools and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
Previous experience through internships, academic projects, reporting roles, research assignments, or data-related work is an advantage.
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, or similar analytical tools is beneficial.
Experience with dashboard creation, reporting automation, and business intelligence platforms is preferred.
Knowledge of statistical methods and data visualization best practices is a plus.
