  • Experience: 3+ years
  • Hourly Rate: $50/hr

  • Job Purpose
  • The IT ERP Business Analyst serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT, responsible for analyzing, designing, and supporting scalable ERP solutions that enable efficient, compliant, and data-driven operations.
  • This role will lead business process analysis, requirements definition, and functional design within a Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment. The Business Analyst will help ensure ERP solutions align with business objectives, support long-term growth, and drive continuous improvement.
  • The initial focus of the position will be ERP sustainment, application support, and developing into a key point of contact for ERP users. As knowledge of the environment grows, the role will become involved in broader ERP initiatives and enhancements.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Lead discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with business stakeholders, with a primary focus on ERP supply chain processes.
  • Analyze, document, and optimize current-state and future-state business processes, identifying gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications and solution designs within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Work ERP service desk tickets, including access requests, integration issues, general user questions, and system-related support needs.
  • Use service desk activity to identify recurring issues, potential backlog items, training needs, and broader system improvement opportunities.
  • Become a key point of contact for ERP users and provide ongoing functional support and education.
  • Support core supply chain and warehouse processes, including inventory management, purchase orders, sales orders, transfer orders, movement journals, cycle counts, and receiving. These processes currently represent the bulk of the organization's ERP footprint.
  • Partner closely with developers, integration teams, configuration resources, architects, and vendors to ensure business requirements are accurately reflected in technical solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned ERP areas and advise users on system capabilities and best practices.
  • Lead or support functional testing, UAT, and validation of integrations and configurations.
  • Develop and maintain user training, system documentation, functional designs, workflows, and user guides.
  • Provide post-implementation support, issue triage, and enhancement recommendations.
  • Support change management, stakeholder communication, and user adoption.
  • Gather and analyze data, identify trends and anomalies, and translate findings into business recommendations.
  • Support KPI development, reporting requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Become involved in broader ERP initiatives as knowledge of the environment grows. The initial priority will be sustainment and support rather than immediate ownership of a major strategic project.
  • Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, ERP Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is strongly preferred. Microsoft Dynamics AX or closely related Microsoft Dynamics experience may also be considered. The hiring manager clarified that Microsoft Dynamics experience is more important than the broader ERP experience reflected in the original JD.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and warehouse business processes.
  • Knowledge of purchase orders, sales orders, transfer orders, movement journals, cycle counts, receiving, and related inventory processes.
  • Experience supporting ERP users and troubleshooting functional or business-process issues.
  • Strong requirements gathering, process mapping, analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively between business users and technical resources.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and competing priorities.
  • Proactive, go-getter mentality with a willingness to dig into issues, learn the environment, and develop a broad understanding of the business and ERP platform. The hiring manager emphasized that extensive experience is less important than having the right foundational experience and mindset.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Dynamics 365 F&O supply chain or warehouse management experience.
  • ERP service desk or application support experience.
  • Experience supporting ERP integrations and connected applications.
  • Experience with end-to-end ERP implementations, upgrades, or enhancements.
  • Experience with Agile and/or DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience supporting change management and stakeholder communication.
  • PMP, CBAP, or related BA/PM certification.
