Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Analyst to join our team in a hybrid role based in Tampa. This position plays a key role in managing the end-to-end background screening process for both employees and contingent workers within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will help ensure onboarding activities are compliant, accurate, and efficient by overseeing the initiation, review, and auditing of background investigations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role is instrumental in supporting audit readiness, mitigating risk, and maintaining strong workforce governance practices. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of background screening for employees and contingent workers using First Advantage and related human capital management systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and regional requirements.
- Coordinate, monitor, and track background screenings in alignment with onboarding timelines and service-level agreements.
- Determine appropriate screening requirements based on worker type, position, location, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Verify completion of all required screening components, including criminal and non-criminal checks, OFAC/sanctions reviews, fingerprinting, and adverse media screenings, prior to granting clearance.
- Review and evaluate screening results, applying established adjudication guidelines and escalation protocols.
- Partner with compliance, legal, HR, and business stakeholders to address complex or sensitive screening matters.
- Support adverse action processes while ensuring full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate audit records and evidence retention while ensuring process documentation and standard operating procedures remain current.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes, reduce risk, and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews and compliance audits through thorough reporting, documentation, and process validation.
- Provide background screening support across multiple business units within a regionally aligned operating model.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Compliance, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in background screening, onboarding operations, compliance, workforce administration, or a related function.
- Previous experience working in a regulated or compliance-focused environment preferred.
- Proven experience managing background screening programs and adjudication processes.
- Familiarity with First Advantage or similar background screening platforms.
- Knowledge of employment screening regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and related compliance requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Experience with HRIS and onboarding technologies, including platforms such as Fieldglass and Oracle, preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting workforce screening programs in a highly regulated environment.
- Proficiency with HR technology platforms and workflow management tools related to onboarding and background screening.
- Strong partnership and collaboration skills with the ability to support regional or multi-business-unit operations.
