About The Role
The Financial Reporting Analyst II at KinderCare Learning Companies plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our external financial reporting. This position involves preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, drafting disclosures, and managing supporting documentation. The analyst will coordinate with various departments including finance, tax, legal, and investor relations to maintain the financial reporting calendar and meet critical filing deadlines. Additionally, the role involves assisting with external audits, researching new accounting standards, and maintaining internal controls aligned with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to the company’s compliance and reporting processes while supporting the organization’s growth and transparency initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 1-2 years of experience in public accounting and/or financial reporting
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations
- Experience with financial statement presentation and disclosures
- Proficiency in XBRL tagging is a plus
- Highly dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to work overtime to meet deadlines
- CPA candidate preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, footnotes, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the review and accuracy of XBRL tagging within 10-Q and 10-K filings.
- Draft Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) reports, including quarterly fluctuation analyses and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and coordinate the financial reporting calendar, collaborating with finance, tax, legal, investor relations, and other departments to ensure adherence to deadlines.
- Support external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits by providing necessary documentation and clarifications.
- Conduct preliminary research on new accounting pronouncements and disclosure requirements to ensure compliance.
- Maintain internal control documentation for financial reporting processes, ensuring alignment with SOX requirements through ongoing collaboration with Internal Audit and key stakeholders.
