About The Role

The Analyst position at Cedars-Sinai is a vital role supporting Registration, Operations, Financial Clearance, and Authorization workflows. The successful candidate will provide operational, reporting, and system workflow support to optimize processes, identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and ensure alignment between operational needs and Epic system functionality. Serving as a liaison between department leadership, EIS, Finance, clinical and operational departments, external partners, and staff, the Analyst plays a key role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of revenue cycle activities. The role requires a strong understanding of Epic functionalities, registration workflows, authorization procedures, operational reporting, and the interdependencies within front-end revenue cycle operations. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining operational reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses, reviewing data to identify workflow gaps, troubleshooting system issues, supporting process improvement initiatives, and assisting with financial and operational reporting. The Analyst collaborates closely with leadership to evaluate performance, recommend improvements, and support system enhancements. This position may also involve supporting regulatory compliance, administrative tasks, and project management efforts to ensure seamless operational workflows across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, administrative support, financial auditing, accounting, or related areas (highly preferred)
  • Epic system experience highly preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot system and workflow issues effectively
  • Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle processes and workflows
  • Proficiency in report creation, data validation, and operational analytics
  • Understanding of federal and state regulatory requirements related to healthcare operations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, maintenance, and distribution of operational reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses related to registration, financial clearance, and authorization workflows
  • Review operational data to identify trends, workflow gaps, system issues, and opportunities for productivity improvements
  • Troubleshoot operational workflow issues and Epic system functionality concerns, partnering with EIS and operational leaders to support resolution, testing, and implementation of system enhancements
  • Serve as a liaison between Registration & Operations leadership, EIS, Finance, clinical departments, external vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives by gathering requirements, documenting current and future workflows, and supporting implementation planning
  • Support report creation, data validation, issue tracking, and KPI reporting to ensure accurate and actionable information for operational leaders
  • Provide operational and administrative support for registration, authorization, eligibility, financial clearance, and related revenue cycle activities
  • Partner with leadership to evaluate operational performance, identify root causes of issues, and recommend workflow or system improvements
  • Assist with financial reporting, budget tracking, and review activities as needed
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and organizational policies and standards
  • Provide additional operational support to department leadership as required
