# Senior Financial Analyst (100040)
## About the Role
American Honda Finance Corp. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for its Accounting Operations division. This role is responsible for end-to-end credit loss analytics, allowance estimation, and financial forecast model administration and development for U.S. and Canadian consumer finance portfolios under US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards and internal SOX controls.
The Senior Financial Analyst will also develop automated workflow applications, support data and analytics initiatives, prepare audit-ready data packages, and communicate financial and analytical insights to committees, management, and cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will bring strong financial modeling, credit loss forecasting, analytics, and communication skills.
## Key Responsibilities
- * Process and validate credit loss forecast models under SOX controls.
- * Prepare monthly and quarterly credit loss reserve reporting and related journal entries.
- * Perform analytics on originations, delinquency, net charge-offs, probability of default, and loss.
- * Develop econometric credit loss forecast models.
- * Develop automated workflow applications.
- * Prepare quarter-end footnotes and public debt disclosures related to credit loss and fair value of Consumer Financial Services portfolios for SEC and 10-K reporting.
- * Provide credit loss reserve forecasts to the Corporate Planning department.
- * Perform analytics on quarterly balance sheet and income statement financial statements.
- * Provide data analytics and supporting explanations for internal SOX audits and external KPMG audits.
- * Develop and refine data analytics to identify potential risks and track trends.
- * Communicate analytical findings to management, credit loss committees, and cross-functional teams.
- * Present financial and analytical information to large audiences with varying levels of experience.
- * Design and develop financial models based on specific accounting and reporting requirements.
- * Interpret financial model and data analytics results and communicate findings effectively.
## Required Qualifications
- * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related business field.
- * 5+ years of progressive professional experience in forecasting credit losses, preferably for consumer and dealer finance portfolios.
- * Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
- * Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Business Objects, or Oracle.
- * Ability to develop and refine data analytics for risk identification and trend analysis.
- * Ability to design and develop financial models based on accounting and reporting requirements.
- * Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and interpret financial models and data analytics.
- * Ability to effectively communicate analytical and financial results.
- * Ability to present to large audiences with broad experience levels.

## Education & Experience
### Education

- * Minimum 5+ years of progressive professional experience in credit loss forecasting, preferably involving consumer and dealer finance portfolios.
- * Experience in data analytics, financial modeling, corporate finance, and financial planning is preferred.

- * Work Arrangement: 80/20 hybrid workstyle — 4 days in office and 1 day remote.
