About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting government information technology programs at MacDill AFB, FL. This position involves managing financial planning, budgeting, and accounting activities, as well as providing contract support. The Financial Analyst will work closely with government stakeholders and program managers to ensure effective resource management and compliance with federal regulations. The role demands a high level of analytical ability, organizational skills, and the capacity to communicate complex financial information clearly. The ideal candidate will bring experience in government financial operations, a strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting, and the ability to support audits and financial reviews effectively.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess an active Top-Secret security clearance. While a formal degree is not mandatory, relevant education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields is preferred. Prior experience supporting Department of Defense or government financial operations is highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills, proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, and excellent organizational and communication abilities. Knowledge of government contract financial administration, invoice reconciliation, procurement support, and financial data analysis is essential. A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls will also be beneficial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining government budgets and financial plans, ensuring alignment with program objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor budget execution and expenditures, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform financial analysis and forecasting activities to support decision-making processes.
  • Support invoice reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payments and reimbursements.
  • Track procurement activities and maintain detailed records of contract funding and expenditure status.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting key insights and trends.
  • Analyze budget trends, identify potential issues, and recommend strategies for optimization and risk mitigation.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial documentation supporting government contracts, including compliance reports and audit materials.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial records and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in financial audits and compliance reviews, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Collaborate with program managers and government stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability in financial operations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
