Overview

As ESG Data Modeler within Regulatory & Cross Product (RCP) Reference Data Modelling team, you’ll work on the design and development enterprise logical data models and physical data models with Sustainability that will support the various sustainability (Investment Bank) business strategies for the Bank. We need to have consistent views of our business activity across business as well as consumers of our data such as Risk, Finance and Treasury. You’ll ensure high-quality enterprise models are built as agreed by data producers and consumers and adhere to group data architecture standards and industry standards. You’ll work on the creation and rollout of models in a dynamic heterogeneous environment that encompasses processing platforms and cloud-based data solutions.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Working closely with Sustainability, Business Change Management and other IT groups to ensure data models are aligned to current and future plans and activities, including coordination and technical assistance to facilitate specific development projects
  • Defining, designing, building and maintaining data models for their function. Given that data does not adhere to strict organizational boundaries, you will need to identify and collaborate with data architects who have shared dependencies
  • Articulating the 'language' for their function in a data model. Depending on your role, this will include conceptual, canonical, logical or physical data models
  • Providing SME input into Data flow architecture activities and partnering with the Technology/System architects to define appropriate data sources by data class (and in accordance with CDO policies)
  • Working closely with Development teams, Change Management and Enterprise Architecture to develop and assure constant compliance with strategic blueprints
  • Skills You’ll Need
  • Experience designing entErprise data architectures, data pipelines, protocol formats, and XML/JSON-based messaging structures
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining logical and physical data models using UML, with strong hands-on expertise in data modeling tools such as Erwin and PowerDesigner.
  • Proven ability to establish data governance frameworks, define data ownership and maintenance processes, and manage stakeholders up to Managing Director level
  • Strong database design, reporting, data analysis, and SQL skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Understanding of Big Data and Cloud technologies, with preferred knowledge of ESG and Sustainability concepts such as GHG, Sustainable Finance, Transition Finance, and CSRD
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs

  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders from technical teams through to Managing Director level
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business-friendly language
  • Works effectively across diverse teams, balancing competing priorities and managing shared data dependencie
  • Ability to connect data modelling decisions to broader business, regulatory, and sustainability objectives
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify data challenges, assess impacts, and develop practical, scalable solutions

  • It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000to $153,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
