About The Role
The Risk Adjustment Data Analyst at University Health plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s Risk Adjustment program. This position involves analyzing healthcare data, generating comprehensive reports, retrieving medical records, and monitoring performance metrics to ensure optimal risk adjustment outcomes. The analyst collaborates closely with internal departments, provider networks, and external vendors to facilitate accurate and timely data collection, validation, and reporting activities. Utilizing health informatics tools and analytics platforms, the analyst identifies trends, tracks key performance indicators, and supports Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) capture efforts. The role also encompasses assisting with medical record retrieval initiatives, ensuring compliance with CMS regulations, and contributing to regulatory reporting requirements. This position is crucial in maintaining the integrity of risk adjustment processes, optimizing provider performance, and supporting organizational compliance and financial stability.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as health informatics, healthcare administration, or data analytics. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare data analysis, medical record retrieval, or related roles is required. Experience working within risk adjustment, managed care, health plan operations, or healthcare analytics is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of healthcare data systems, electronic health records (EHRs), and medical record retrieval processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, coupled with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, is essential. The ability to effectively collaborate with providers, vendors, and cross-functional teams is critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
The Risk Adjustment Data Analyst will be responsible for a broad range of activities to support the risk adjustment program, including but not limited to:
- Analyzing healthcare data to identify trends and opportunities for improved risk capture.
- Generating detailed reports on risk adjustment performance and provider metrics.
- Supporting Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) capture initiatives through data validation and analysis.
- Collaborating with provider networks and internal teams to facilitate accurate medical record retrieval and documentation.
- Monitoring key performance indicators to ensure compliance with CMS and organizational standards.
- Assisting with medical record retrieval processes, ensuring timely and complete documentation for risk adjustment purposes.
- Participating in regulatory reporting activities and maintaining compliance with CMS guidelines.
- Utilizing health informatics and analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI or similar platforms to enhance data insights.
- Supporting provider education initiatives related to documentation and risk adjustment best practices.
- Maintaining accurate and organized records of data analysis, reports, and correspondence with external vendors.
