About The Role
The Risk Adjustment Data Analyst at University Health plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s Risk Adjustment program. The primary focus is on analyzing healthcare data, generating detailed reports, retrieving medical records, and monitoring performance metrics to ensure optimal risk adjustment outcomes. This role involves close collaboration with internal departments, provider networks, and external vendors to facilitate accurate and timely data collection, analysis, and reporting. The analyst utilizes health informatics and analytics tools to identify trends, track key performance indicators, and support Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) capture efforts. Additionally, the role involves assisting with medical record retrieval initiatives, data validation, provider performance analysis, and regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as healthcare administration, health informatics, or data analytics. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare data analysis and medical record retrieval is required. Experience working within Risk Adjustment, managed care, health plan operations, or healthcare analytics is highly preferred. Candidates must have a solid understanding of healthcare data, electronic health records (EHRs), and medical record retrieval processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, along with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The ability to work effectively with providers, vendors, and cross-functional teams is crucial for success in this role.
Responsibilities
The Risk Adjustment Data Analyst’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the organization’s risk adjustment initiatives through comprehensive data analysis and reporting. This involves extracting and validating data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy, and preparing reports that inform strategic decision-making. The analyst will coordinate with provider networks and external vendors to facilitate medical record retrieval, ensuring compliance with CMS guidelines and organizational standards. Monitoring key performance indicators related to HCC capture and risk adjustment metrics is essential to identify areas for improvement and optimize outcomes. The role also includes assisting with provider performance evaluations, participating in audits and regulatory reporting, and maintaining documentation of all activities related to risk adjustment processes. The analyst will leverage health informatics tools like Power BI or similar platforms to visualize data trends and support continuous improvement efforts.
