Role Description The Cybersecurity Analyst / Engineer is a part-time remote role focused on safeguarding PNC’s digital infrastructure, applications, and project data. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring systems and networks for security incidents, analyzing threats and vulnerabilities, and implementing security controls aligned with industry best practices. The role involves supporting secure configuration for applications, reviewing access controls, and assisting with security assessments for project-related systems and tools. The successful candidate will document findings, prepare clear reports and recommendations, collaborate with IT and project teams, and contribute to continuous improvement of cybersecurity processes and policies.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Cybersecurity with practical experience applying security principles in operational environments.
Proficiency in Network Security, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure network architectures.
Experience with Application Security, such as secure coding practices, application vulnerability assessment, and remediation support.
Capability in Malware Analysis and threat investigation, including identifying, analyzing, and responding to malicious activity.
Excellent Analytical Skills for interpreting logs, security events, and risk assessments to produce clear, actionable insights.
Familiarity with relevant security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls) is beneficial.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP, or equivalent) and post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field are considered assets.
