About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join Addison Group's expanding IT security team. This role is pivotal in safeguarding the organization’s critical systems, data, and technological infrastructure. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will be responsible for security monitoring, threat detection, incident investigation, and response coordination. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations, with the ability to independently recognize suspicious activities, analyze potential threats, and implement appropriate remediation strategies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly impact the security posture of the organization.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of practical experience in cybersecurity, working within SOC environments or security-focused systems administration. A strong foundation in troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and problem-solving is essential. Candidates should have experience investigating and responding to cybersecurity threats, with a solid understanding of networking concepts, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365. An associate or bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SC-200, SC-300, AZ-500, or CISSP. Excellent communication skills are vital for documenting findings and explaining security issues effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate security alerts across endpoints, identity management, email systems, cloud environments, and network infrastructure to identify suspicious activities and potential threats.
• Respond promptly to cybersecurity incidents by triaging alerts, managing security tickets, and escalating issues when necessary to ensure swift resolution.
• Participate in incident response activities, including threat hunting, vulnerability assessments, and remediation efforts to strengthen security defenses.
• Assist with security documentation, reporting, and compliance efforts aligned with industry standards and best practices.
• Monitor and manage security configurations for Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoint protection, privileged access, and application permissions to prevent unauthorized access.
• Support vulnerability management initiatives, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and remediation activities using platforms such as Wiz.
• Administer and optimize cybersecurity tools and technologies, ensuring they operate effectively and align with organizational needs.
• Develop or support automation of security processes using PowerShell scripting and Microsoft Graph API to improve efficiency and response times.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to implement security controls and initiatives, ensuring alignment with security frameworks like NIST CSF, CIS Controls, and Microsoft Security Best Practices.
• Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to proactively enhance the organization’s security posture.
