Serve Freight is a third-party logistics provider moving freight for shippers across the country. We're hiring a part-time Claims Analyst to own the full lifecycle of freight cargo claims, hold carriers accountable for what they're liable for, and protect our customers. This role reports directly to the CEO.

• What you'll own
• Manage cargo loss and damage claims from intake through documented resolution
• Acknowledge and open every new claim within 24 hours
• Pursue recovery and subrogation from liable motor carriers and their insurers
• Maintain a current claims log so leadership has real-time visibility on open claims, financial exposure, and recovery status
• Build and refine the procedures and templates that make our claims handling consistent
• Flag recurring carrier or lane issues that drive claims
• Escalate high-exposure or disputed claims to the CEO with a recommended course of action

• What we need to see
• Two or more years of hands-on freight cargo claims experience, at a brokerage, motor carrier, or cargo insurer
• Working command of the Carmack Amendment and how broker liability differs from carrier liability
• Proven recovery and subrogation track record. Specific claims you routed to a carrier's insurance and got paid on
• Comfort working in a TMS and a CRM
• Clear, plain-language written communication. You'll write to customers, carriers, and adjusters every day

• Your default move on a damage or loss claim is to determine who's actually liable, not to cut a check to make the noise stop
• You document well. The next person who picks up the file knows everything they need to know
• You hold a deadline. A 24-hour intake standard is the floor, not the aspiration
• You're consistently available during afternoons

• Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week
• 1099 independent contractor, $30 per hour, bi-weekly invoices
• Fully remote
• Eastern or Central time zone only
