Business Systems Analyst III

2. About the Opportunity:

The Business Systems Analyst III plays a critical role in bridging business needs and technical teams by analyzing, clarifying, and documenting complex requirements for key software platforms. This position ensures that specifications are clear and actionable, contributing to high-quality solution delivery and supporting strategic decisions through structured analysis.

3. Responsibilities:

• • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and document business and technical requirements
• • Translate requirements into functional specifications, workflows, and system designs
• • Manage epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligning with business priorities
• • Support solution design by providing inputs such as workflows and business rules
• • Clarify requirements and guide delivery teams to reduce ambiguity
• • Communicate effectively to maintain stakeholder alignment
• • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and share recommendations
• • Review delivered features to ensure alignment with requirements
• • Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release planning
• • Perform data analysis using SQL and BI tools to validate requirements
• • Provide recommendations on complex business and system challenges
• • Identify gaps and recommend process improvements
• • Promote best practices in requirements documentation and Agile execution
• • Participate in prototyping and proof-of-concept efforts
• • Mentor junior analysts
• • Support planning and roadmap discussions

4. Requirements:

• • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• • Ten years of progressive experience as a Business Systems Analyst or related role supporting complex software platforms
• • Experience with Agile software development lifecycle
• • Proven ability to influence product or platform direction through strategic insights
• • Experience leading User Acceptance Testing and stakeholder coordination
• • Strong technical analysis skills and ability to translate business needs into technical specifications
• • Advanced communication and presentation skills bridging technical and non-technical teams
• • Proficiency with Jira or similar Agile tools
• • Advanced data analysis skills using SQL and BI tools
• • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• • Ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities
• • Familiarity with Python/Django and API-based systems is a plus
• • Experience in energy, sustainability, or utility domains is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• • Advanced coursework or graduate degree in related fields
• • Professional certifications such as IIBA CBAP or PMI PBA
• • Prior software development experience
• • Experience working in cloud-based environments
