About The Role
Sentara Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our dynamic team. This fully remote position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the support, enhancement, and implementation of critical software applications used within the organization. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will oversee and direct medium-scale projects or components of larger initiatives, developing detailed project plans and coordinating resources effectively. The role involves collaborating closely with stakeholders, including end-users, IT personnel, and software vendors, to ensure that technological solutions align with operational needs. The analyst will assess, analyze, and document stakeholder requirements, develop test cases, and work with developers on system fixes and enhancements. Additionally, the role involves long-term system analysis and hardware design to maintain optimal production environments. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a customer-focused mindset to support Sentara’s mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field (required)
- Alternatively, candidates without a bachelor's degree with six or more years of relevant experience may be considered
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in business systems analysis (required)
- Advanced proficiency in SQL (required)
- Experience working with EDI-834 files (required)
- Experience with QNXT and/or Facets systems (preferred)
- Member enrollment process knowledge (a plus)
- Experience with Clarity, ID card configuration, and member eligibility processes (preferred)
- Knowledge of Medicaid, commercial health plans, and marketplace coverage (preferred)
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Support, enhance, and implement software applications used within the organization to improve operational efficiency
- Oversee and manage medium-scale projects or components of large initiatives, including developing project plans, timelines, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including end-users and IT teams, to gather and analyze requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs
- Design and implement application and product enhancements based on identified opportunities
- Develop detailed test cases, execute testing, and document results for review and approval by business and technical managers
- Partner with developers to provide solutions, estimates, and timelines for system fixes and improvements
- Conduct long-term analysis and design of systems and hardware to maintain and optimize production environments
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and recommendations
- Participate in project teams developing or modifying complex information systems and ensure timely delivery
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to healthcare systems
