Business System Analyst

• We are seeking an experienced Business System Analyst to support a major banking client on a Mobile Cheque Deposit (MCD) software upgrade.
• This initiative focuses on technology/software upgrades with no planned functional changes. The successful candidate will support requirements analysis, impact assessment, testing, stakeholder coordination, and implementation activities to ensure existing functionality remains intact.

• Hybrid: 2 days per week in office
• Location: Downtown Toronto

• Key Responsibilities
• Support the Mobile Cheque Deposit software upgrade from a business/system analysis perspective.
• Analyze the impact of software, framework, and platform upgrades on existing functionality.
• Review and validate existing requirements, business rules, processes, and system dependencies.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and QA teams.
• Support regression, integration, and compatibility testing to ensure existing functionality is maintained.
• Document requirements, impacts, dependencies, risks, and acceptance criteria.
• Support defect analysis, troubleshooting, implementation, and production readiness.
• Participate in Agile delivery activities as required.

• Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Business System Analyst in enterprise technology environments.
• 4+ years of experience working as a Business System Analyst within software development/technology teams.
• Strong experience in requirements analysis, documentation, validation, and stakeholder management.
• Experience supporting software upgrades, application modernization, framework/version upgrades, or platform migration.
• Experience working with development and QA teams, including regression and integration testing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.

• Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience supporting Mobile Cheque Deposit or mobile/digital banking applications.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience with technology upgrades where existing functionality must be maintained without functional changes.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, system integrations, security, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with enterprise-scale application modernization initiatives.
