About IBT:
Infinite Biomedical Technologies (IBT) is a Baltimore-based medical device company at the forefront of helping people achieve intuitive operation of their prosthetic arms. We are bridging the gap between man and machine through the development of non-invasive electrode interfaces, flexible batteries, and stylish yet simple software applications to operate prosthetic arms. To date, our devices have impacted over 6,000 people in 46 countries across the world. We are an 18-person team where every role touches the whole business.
The Role:
- We are creating a new position at the center of how IBT runs: your job is to figure out how this company actually performs - and then make it better. That starts on the ground floor, inside our Production and Quality departments – working in inventory, analyzing complaints, supporting production - and extends into the operational side of Sales and Finance, from pipeline data to cost tracking to audit preparation. The ground-level work is the point: the person who work hands on in a department is the person who sees exactly where a process breaks - and earns the credibility to change it.
- You will learn this business from the inside, not from behind a desk. We are looking for someone who is driven by numbers, makes decisions with data, and shares our ambition to build the best-run company in our industry - starting from the production floor up. This role reports directly to the CEO and works daily with the Production Manager and the Quality and Regulatory team.
- Your First 90 Days
- Days 1-30 - Learn: split your week across Production, Quality, and Finance, working hands-on alongside the leads of each - cycle counts, complaint intake, builds and RMAs, finance operations. No dashboards yet; just fluency.
- Days 31–60 — Measure: start building the data layer from what you now know firsthand - inventory variance, complaint trends, early COGS tracking.
- Days 61-90 - Present: assemble and deliver your first monthly operations review to leadership.
- Hands-On Operations Execution
- This is where improvement starts: you cannot fix a process you have not run.
- · Coordinate and execute inventory cycle counts with the production team; reconcile material consumption records and own the accuracy of the resulting data.
- · Process complaint intake and logging; support RMA processing and build documentation.
- · Execute existing production and quality processes alongside the Production and QARA teams.
- · Learn every operational workflow firsthand - this ground-level fluency is the foundation for everything analytical in this role.
- Building the Data Layer
- · Build and maintain complaint trend analysis with component- and process-level attribution; prepare CAPA and quality metrics for ISO 13485 management review.
- · Establish true COGS tracking and reconcile actual versus expected costs against company forecasts.
- · Identify and quantify sources of inventory variance from cycle count and consumption data.
- · Measure build and RMA cycle times - from Salesforce records and time studies on the production floor - identify bottlenecks, support process changes through our ECO process, and track whether interventions actually improve build times; support sales and distributor order pipeline tracking.
- · Grow into owning the monthly operations review: assemble the data pack, present trends and variances to leadership, and recommend priorities.
- · After establishing the review cadence, propose, size, and run operational improvement initiatives.
- Operational Finance Support
- · Support audit preparation: build schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for IBT's financial statement audit.
- · Analyze purchasing spend and vendor pricing to inform sourcing decisions.
- Growth Pathway
- This is a foundational hire with a defined trajectory. We are investing in training this person across every operational function of the company, and we are looking for someone who wants to make a long-term commitment to growing with IBT. Strong performance leads toward operations leadership responsibility, with a pathway to Director of Operations. Compensation reviews are tied to demonstrated impact, with meaningful raises available on an accelerated schedule for strong performance.
Qualifications
- If this role excites you but you don't check every box below, we encourage you to apply anyway — we hire for drive and curiosity, and we will train you on the rest (ISO 13485, CAPA, our QMS, Salesforce, and everything in between).
- · 1-4 years of professional experience; exposure to medical device, manufacturing, or other regulated production environments a plus.
- · Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, data analytics or statistics coursework, quality/regulatory coursework) a plus.
- · Demonstrably data-driven: you instinctively reach for numbers to justify decisions, and you are comfortable building metrics from imperfect, scattered data sources.
- · At home in unstructured, multi-disciplinary work: startup experience, or having built or implemented operational systems and processes, is a strong plus.
- · Proficiency in Excel; experience with Salesforce, QMS software, or BI tools a plus.
- · Clear communicator and self-directed: able to present findings to leadership, work respectfully alongside production and quality teams, and help define your own workflows as we build this role together.
- · Ambition: you want to help build a best-in-industry company and see structured, measured operations as the way to get there.
- Compensation and Details
- · Salary range: $72,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience.
- · Full-time, in-person at our Baltimore office (8 Market Place, Suite 500).
- · 401(k) with 6% match
- · Generous vacation package
- · 100% health, dental, and vision coverage
- · Annual professional development costs covered by IBT
- · Parking reimbursement and other in-office related benefits
