Title: Business Analyst Consultant

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst Consultant to support business process analysis and system enhancement initiatives for a state government agency. The ideal candidate will work closely with business users, management, and technical teams to analyze business needs, improve integrated tax systems, recommend process enhancements, and support data-driven decision-making. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, along with experience working in state government and integrated tax environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business processes and operational needs related to tax collection and enforcement activities.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements to improve system functionality and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to integrated tax systems, reports, and business processes.
- Analyze collection data and reports to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with business users, management, IT teams, and stakeholders to develop effective business solutions.
- Troubleshoot collection-related system issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Develop new reports and reporting solutions to improve operational performance and support decision-making.
- Provide expertise on integrated tax system functionality and business operations.
- Train and mentor team members on tax data, business processes, and system capabilities.
- Maintain current knowledge of enterprise tax systems and participate in required system training.
- Ensure compliance with organizational information security policies and best practices.
- Prepare business documentation, process improvements, recommendations, and status reports.
- Prioritize multiple assignments while providing timely updates to leadership and project stakeholders.
- Support special projects and other business analysis initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited institution.
- 3+ years of Process Improvement experience.
- 3+ years of experience working with Integrated Tax Systems.
- 3+ years of experience training team members on tax data and system processes.
- 3+ years of experience working in State Government.
- 3+ years of experience using SharePoint.
- Experience analyzing business requirements and recommending enhancements to integrated tax systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with business users, management, and IT teams.
- Experience with GENTAX.
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives.
- Leadership and supervisory experience.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and support team members in achieving operational goals.
- Ability to analyze business needs and develop practical business solutions.
- Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with business users, management, and IT staff.
- Strong initiative with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
