About The Role
Sentara Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Systems Analyst to join their dynamic team. This fully remote position plays a crucial role in supporting, enhancing, and implementing software applications utilized within the organization. The Senior Business Systems Analyst will oversee and direct intermediate-scale projects or specific components of larger initiatives, developing comprehensive project plans, timelines, and coordinating resources effectively. The role involves working closely with stakeholders, end-users, IT personnel, and software vendors to ensure technology solutions align with operational needs. The analyst will identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, design application enhancements, and streamline business practices to improve efficiency and service delivery. Additionally, this position requires detailed analysis, documentation, and testing of system solutions, as well as collaboration with development teams to estimate costs and timelines for fixes and enhancements. The role also involves long-term system analysis and hardware planning to maintain optimal production environments, ensuring that technology infrastructure supports organizational goals effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Candidates without a degree but with six or more years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience in business analysis or related roles.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, with experience in writing complex queries and data analysis.
- Experience working with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI-834 files) is required.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems such as QNXT and/or Facets is a plus.
- Member enrollment processes experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Clarity, ID card configurations, and member eligibility procedures is desirable.
- Experience working with Medicaid, commercial health plans, and marketplace coverage is beneficial.
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support, enhance, and implement healthcare software applications to meet organizational needs.
- Lead and coordinate intermediate-scale projects or specific modules within larger projects, ensuring timely delivery and resource management.
- Engage with stakeholders, end-users, and IT teams to gather and analyze requirements, translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Design and develop detailed test cases, execute testing procedures, and document results for review and approval.
- Collaborate with developers to provide cost and time estimates for software fixes and enhancements, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.
- Perform long-term analysis and planning for system and hardware upgrades to maintain a robust production environment.
- Assess existing processes and recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including requirements, test cases, and technical specifications.
- Participate in cross-functional project teams, contributing expertise to develop or modify complex information systems.
- Maintain ongoing communication with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of healthcare applications.
