Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Budget Analyst position based in Sunland Park, NM. The Budget Analyst plays a key role in developing, monitoring, and analyzing SCRTD’s operating and capital budgets. Responsibilities include preparing budget and financial reports, monitoring expenditures, analyzing financial trends and variances, assisting with financial forecasting, and supporting long-term financial planning.
The position works closely with District leadership and departments and assists with federal and state grant reporting and compliance, including funding administered through NMDOT and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field required.
Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or public sector finance.
Experience with transit or government budgeting preferred.
Knowledge of federal and state transportation funding programs is strongly desired.
Strong analytical, organizational, and financial reporting skills.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly and work collaboratively with District leadership and departments.
