BIM Manager | Founder-Led Hyperscale Data Center Developer-Operator | Dallas-Fort Worth
A hyperscale developer is building its tenant fit-out function from a new DFW office. This is one of three new management seats.
The business is majority founder-owned, with institutional capital behind it. It develops everything from powered shells and build-to-suit facilities to gigascale campuses for hyperscale, AI/HPC and enterprise customers. More than two dozen data centers are operating across more than a dozen campuses, most of them in the U.S. A multi-gigawatt pipeline is concentrated in the Southwest, West Coast, Texas and Midwest.
You would own BIM strategy and model development for tenant fit-out across the portfolio. That covers white space layouts, rack elevations, and cable tray and pathway routing coordinated against the base build. This is the customer-specific layer of each data hall, the work that turns a shell into live capacity.
You would lead clash detection and coordination sessions with general contractors and trade partners. You would also run multidisciplinary integration across electrical, mechanical, structural and base-build models. You would set the TFO modeling standards, templates and LOD requirements, maintain the BIM execution plan and standards library, and manage the technicians and modelers who work to them.
Alongside Technical Engineering and Pre-Construction, the job is to surface design conflicts before they reach the field. You would then keep as-built models current through and after construction.
- The seat reports into TFO leadership.
- What tends to fit:
- Five or more years in hyperscale data centers, ideally closer to ten, likely from an architecture firm or a GC with in-house modeling
- 6+ years managing BIM, ideally on mission critical work
- Advanced Revit and Navisworks, plus strong AutoCAD
- BIM execution plans and modeling standards you have written and seen other teams adopt
- Experience leading technicians and modelers, and comfort with constant scope change, since tenant requirements move and the model has to keep pace
- A degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field
You would be setting how a growing developer models every tenant fit-out from the start, rather than inheriting someone else’s standards. There is a multi-gigawatt pipeline to apply them to.
- The role is based in DFW, four days a week in the office.
- Remote is possible only for an exceptional candidate.
