Associate / Analyst – Settlements

Charlotte, NC — Hybrid Permanent / Full-Time $75,000 – $90,000 5+ Years Financial Services Security Settlements Required

  • Role Description
  • Ensure timely execution of day-to-day settlement activities
  • Investigate settlement-related issues such as unrecognized/unmatched trades and payment disputes
  • Fail Management — daily affirmation of fails and focus on clearing them as quickly as possible
  • Work with Treasury and Cash Operations teams to settle margin requirements by deadline
  • Fulfill Triparty shells at end of each night and ensure they are properly collateralized until they roll off
  • Proactive management and timely escalation of emerging risks and issues
  • Preparation of metrics and other reports as required
  • Proactively mitigate risk by reviewing and strengthening procedures and identifying opportunities for process enhancement
  • Partner with the New York Securities Operations team to ensure tight controls, regulatory compliance, and continuous product and process education
  • Assist with projects and initiatives related to enhancing current processes and controls, including planning and implementation

Qualifications

  • Required Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services
  • 2+ years of experience working in Security Settlements
  • Comfort with FED, DTC, and/or Euroclear settlement platforms
  • BA/BS degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Core Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High-level customer service mindset with a commitment to supporting key stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight timelines
  • Strong analytical skills to identify, assess, and root-cause problems and propose solutions
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and sound decision-making
