Position: Video Data Collector

Type: Contract

Compensation: $8 - $17/hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week

Role Responsibilities

  • Capture natural, first-person video footage of everyday activities using a smartphone with a head strap.
  • Follow detailed capture instructions and submit video recordings with complete and accurate metadata.
  • Identify shooting locations independently and comply with privacy, consent, and safety protocols.
  • Use company-provided video equipment and updated workflows in later project phases.
  • Coordinate and record group activities, ensuring all consents and permissions are obtained.
  • Maintain high standards of data quality and reliability to meet specified guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with project coordinators, reporting progress and challenges.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in video capture or similar data collection activities.
  • Reliable access to a high-quality personal smartphone for video recording.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on accuracy.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions with attention to privacy and metadata.
  • Comfort navigating various environments for data collection.
  • Ability to collaborate or coordinate with others for group recordings.
  • Flexibility to manage varied tasks and adapt to new workflows and equipment.
