- Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support AR/VR data collection operations by creating and maintaining high-quality documentation for hardware setup, data collection procedures, and operational workflows. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering, research, and operations teams to produce clear, user-friendly documentation that ensures safety, consistency, and high-quality data collection.
- Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AR/VR data collection activities.
- Create hardware setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting guides for AR headsets, sensors, and related equipment.
- Translate complex engineering and research requirements into easy-to-follow documentation for operational teams.
- Observe data collection sessions and continuously improve documentation based on user feedback.
- Document safety procedures in collaboration with EHS teams.
- Manage documentation within Confluence, internal wikis, or other knowledge management platforms.
- Create visual documentation including screenshots, diagrams, flowcharts, and instructional materials.
- Required Skills
- 5+ years of Technical Writing experience.
- Minimum 2 years supporting Hardware, Manufacturing, Operations, or AR/VR environments.
- Experience creating SOPs, user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and procedural documentation.
- Strong documentation skills using Confluence, Google Workspace, MadCap Flare, or similar tools.
- Experience with Snagit, Visio, Lucidchart, Photoshop, or similar diagramming tools.
- Ability to understand hardware systems and document technical processes accurately.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Computer Vision, or Machine Learning projects.
- Knowledge of instructional video creation using Camtasia or Adobe Premiere Pro.
- UX writing experience for hardware or software products.
- Background in instructional design or technical training.
- Core Competencies

- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical users.
- Strong collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
