Job Overview:
Chicago Fire Football Club is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Strategy & Analytics to help lead the day-to-day operations and execution of the Club's Business Strategy & Analytics function. This role will report to the Senior Director, Marketing and serve as a key partner across the organization, working closely with Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Soccer Business and Marketing to translate business priorities into actionable strategies, analytics, models and data-driven solutions.
This individual will operate as a player-coach, balancing team leadership and project management with hands-on analytical work. They will work closely with team members across Business Strategy & Analytics, providing mentorship and technical guidance, stepping into complex analytics and modeling projects when needed and ensuring the team’s work delivers meaningful business impact.
Job Responsibilities:
Team Operations & Mentorship
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Business Strategy & Analytics team, establishing clear priorities, responsibilities, timelines and expectations.
- Mentor and develop team members across Business Strategy & Analytics, providing guidance on analytical approaches, modeling, problem solving, project execution and stakeholder management.
- Serve as a senior technical and analytical resource for the team, helping troubleshoot challenges, review methodologies and approaches and improve the quality of team outputs.
- Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment that encourages knowledge sharing, accountability and continued development.
- Balance team leadership responsibilities with hands-on participation in priority analytics, modeling and data initiatives.
Business Analytics & Modeling
- Conduct and support analyses that address key business opportunities across Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Soccer Business and Marketing.
- Develop and support predictive models and advanced analyses for ticket demand and single-match forecasting, member renewal and retention, fan behavior, customer lifetime value, lead scoring, segmentation and revenue forecasting.
- Partner with team analysts on complex modeling and analytical projects, providing methodological guidance, reviewing approaches and assumptions and stepping in with hands-on support when needed.
- Translate complex data and model outputs into clear insights, recommendations and business actions for stakeholders and leadership.
- Build and support dashboards, reporting and KPI frameworks that improve visibility into business performance and enable better decision making.
- Identify opportunities to move the organization beyond reporting toward more predictive, proactive and insight-driven decision making.
Data & Technical Enablement
- Develop a strong understanding of the Club’s data ecosystem and work closely with Data Engineering and CRM to ensure data is accessible, reliable and effectively utilized.
- Work directly with data using tools such as SQL, Python, BI platforms and other analytical technologies to conduct analyses, develop models and support priority projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship across data modeling, analytics, visualization, CRM and data management based on individual team needs and areas of expertise.
- Partner with Data Engineering on data architecture, integrations, warehouse management, data quality and governance initiatives, providing business and analytical context to technical decisions.
- Partner with CRM to support effective segmentation, lead management, fan profile enhancement, campaign measurement and activation of fan data.
- Identify opportunities to improve the team’s tools, methodologies, automation and overall technical capabilities.
Strategy, Prioritization & Cross-Functional Delivery
- Partner with the Senior Director, Marketing and leaders across the Club to translate strategic priorities and business needs into actionable BSA initiatives.
- Serve as a strategic and analytical partner to stakeholders, helping determine how data, analytics, modeling and technology can support better decision making.
- Own the intake and prioritization of BSA initiatives, determining the appropriate analytical or technical approach, while balancing business impact, strategic alignment, urgency and team capacity.
- Lead complex, cross-functional analytics and data projects, establishing clear ownership, scope, timelines and measures of success.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, analytical methodologies, automation, self-service capabilities and broader organizational adoption of data and insights.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in business strategy, analytics, business intelligence, data science, consulting or a related field, with demonstrated progression in responsibility.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets, identify meaningful insights and translate data into actionable business strategies.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and/or Python and the ability to independently work with data to conduct analyses, develop models and solve business problems.
- Experience developing or supporting predictive models, forecasting, segmentation, statistical analyses or other advanced analytical methodologies.
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools (Sigma) and demonstrated ability to develop effective dashboards, reporting and analytical outputs.
- Familiarity with modern data environments, including data warehouses and data management best practices. Experience with Snowflake or comparable platforms is preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms, ideally Salesforce and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and an understanding of how customer and fan data can be activated to support business objectives.
- Proven experience leading complex, data-driven projects involving multiple stakeholders from problem definition through implementation.
- Must display a strong work ethic and desire to build a career in professional sports.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
- High degree of adaptability and comfort taking on unfamiliar or loosely defined assignments.
- Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a willingness to take ownership well beyond a traditional job description.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality while working on sensitive business matters.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business analytics, data analytics, business administration, strategy, finance, economics, data science or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop analysts or other technical team members, including reviewing work, providing methodological guidance and helping others solve complex problems.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to balance hands-on analytical work with multiple concurrent team and organizational priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts, analytical findings, and model outputs for non-technical audiences.
- Strong business acumen and relationship-building skills, with the ability to understand organizational objectives and work collaboratively with stakeholders and leaders to identify opportunities where data and analytics can drive impact.
- Experience in sports, entertainment or fast-paced environment is preferred but not required.
Compensation:
- This role offers a salary range of $75,000.00 - $85,000.00
- Final salary is determined by carefully considering the applicant's background, experience, and qualifications. Base pay may vary significantly based on geographic location, job-specific knowledge, skills, and overall experience. This role is classified as full-time, exempt.
- This role is bonus eligible based on club-wide goals.
