  • Position Summary
  • Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, the Packaging Sourcing Analyst will support packaging sourcing initiatives through demand planning, supplier management, market analysis, cost modeling, and inventory planning activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring supply continuity, cost optimization, and operational efficiency across packaging materials used in manufacturing operations.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Support packaging sourcing strategies through demand analysis, cost modeling, market research, and supplier benchmarking for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials.
  • Manage packaging demand forecasts, inventory planning, sourcing calendars, and replenishment activities to support production requirements and long-range operational planning.
  • Partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support packaging sourcing, development, commercialization, and continuous improvement initiatives for existing products and new product launches.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPI tracking, service reporting, issue resolution, corrective actions, and supplier relationship management activities.
  • Analyze packaging market trends, cost drivers, supply risks, and pricing fluctuations to provide recommendations that support sourcing decisions, cost optimization, and supply continuity.
  • Develop and maintain forecasting models, cost breakdowns, specifications, reporting tools, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate packaging trials, approvals, and implementation of packaging improvements to ensure quality, manufacturability, operational efficiency, and customer requirements are met.
  • Support supplier pricing alignment, customer pricing structures, rebate programs, and invoice reconciliation activities in collaboration with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and supply chain optimization through data analysis and supplier collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GMP standards, food safety requirements, health and safety regulations, environmental policies, and legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with packaging sourcing, procurement, packaging development, or supply chain operations is considered an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
