Role: Senior SAP S/4HANA Order-to-Cash Functional Analyst
Location: Hybrid in Arden Hills, MN
Rate: $81.90-$93.60/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications

Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior SAP S/4HANA Order-to-Cash Functional Analyst to support and enhance our SAP S/4HANA implementation. This role will be a key member of the Order-to-Cash team, providing hands-on techno-functional expertise across production support, solution design, configuration, testing, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a strong SAP system expert who understands how Order-to-Cash processes are executed within S/4HANA and can translate business requirements into practical, scalable SAP solutions. This individual must be equally comfortable troubleshooting transactions directly in the system, making configuration changes, writing detailed functional specifications, and facilitating design sessions with business process owners.
This is not a project coordination or requirements-only role. The successful candidate will be expected to work directly in SAP, diagnose complex issues, recommend efficient solutions, and provide functional leadership to the broader implementation and support team.

Key Responsibilities
SAP Solution Design and Configuration
Serve as a senior functional expert for SAP S/4HANA Order-to-Cash processes.
Lead or participate in design sessions with business owners, process leads, developers, architects, and other functional teams.
Translate business requirements into effective SAP process and system designs.
Perform hands-on SAP configuration and support related transports through the appropriate system landscape.
Evaluate solution alternatives and recommend approaches that make effective use of standard SAP capabilities.
Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce custom development, and improve system efficiency.
Explain SAP functionality, dependencies, constraints, and leading practices to business and technical stakeholders.
Production Support and Troubleshooting
Provide advanced functional support for the production S/4HANA environment.
Investigate and resolve complex Order-to-Cash issues by reviewing configuration, transactional data, master data, document flow, pricing analysis, availability results, outputs, interfaces, and system messages.
Perform root-cause analysis rather than relying on temporary workarounds.
Determine whether issues are caused by configuration, master data, transactional data, custom development, integration, security, or business-process gaps.
Work with ABAP developers and other technical resources to diagnose and resolve custom-program and integration issues.
Support incident, problem, defect, and change-management processes.
Provide guidance to the core support team on how SAP processes work and how issues should be analyzed.
Advanced ATP and Customer Segmentation
Support the design and implementation of SAP S/4HANA Advanced Available-to-Promise, or aATP.
Partner with business owners to define availability, confirmation, allocation, prioritization, and exception-management requirements.
Contribute to the design of capabilities such as:
Product availability checks
Backorder processing
Product allocation
Supply protection
Alternative-based confirmation, where applicable
Release for delivery, where applicable
Support customer segmentation and prioritization requirements within order promising and fulfillment processes.
Evaluate how customer segments, product priorities, contractual commitments, and supply constraints should influence order confirmation and allocation decisions.
Ensure that aATP designs integrate appropriately with sales orders, materials management, production planning, delivery processing, and related supply-chain processes.
Pricing and Contract Management
Support a complex SAP pricing environment, including condition technique, access sequences, condition records, pricing procedures, exclusions, formulas, custom ABAP routines, and account determination dependencies.
Troubleshoot pricing issues across sales documents, deliveries, billing documents, credits, debits, and returns.
Provide functional leadership for a custom quantity contract solution.
Understand and support contract consumption, release orders, target quantities, validity periods, pricing relationships, reporting, and exception scenarios.
Assess existing custom functionality and identify opportunities to improve performance, usability, maintainability, and alignment with standard SAP capabilities.
Clearly document custom business rules and the interaction between custom functionality and standard SAP processes.
Functional Specifications and Delivery
Write detailed functional specifications for enhancements, interfaces, reports, conversions, forms, workflows, and custom developments.
Define business rules, process logic, field mappings, validations, error handling, security considerations, and acceptance criteria.
Work closely with developers to clarify requirements and validate proposed technical designs.
Create functional test scenarios and support unit, integration, regression, and user-acceptance testing.
Support defect triage and ensure that delivered solutions address both the immediate requirement and the underlying business need.
Develop process documentation, configuration documentation, decision records, support procedures, and training materials.
Functional Leadership
Act as a trusted SAP advisor to business owners and the core implementation team.
Help the team understand standard SAP functionality and the downstream impacts of design decisions.
Challenge requirements when they introduce unnecessary complexity or conflict with scalable SAP design principles.
Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance on configuration, troubleshooting, documentation, and solution design.
Coordinate with adjacent functional areas such as Materials Management, Production Planning, Finance, Transportation, Warehouse Management, and master data.
Promote consistent design standards and governance across the Order-to-Cash solution.
Required Qualifications
Significant hands-on experience as an SAP SD or Order-to-Cash Functional Analyst.
Strong functional knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Sales and Distribution.
Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting end-to-end Order-to-Cash processes, including:
Customer and business-partner master data
Sales orders
Contracts and scheduling agreements
Availability checking
Delivery and shipping processing
Billing
Returns, credits, and debits
Pricing and condition technique
Copy control and document flow
Output management
Integration with Finance, Materials Management, and Production Planning
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex SAP transactions directly in the system.
Experience making configuration changes and supporting those changes through testing and deployment.
Strong knowledge of complex SAP pricing design and troubleshooting.
Experience preparing high-quality functional specifications for custom development.
Ability to facilitate design sessions and communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with a disciplined approach to root-cause analysis.
Ability to work independently while providing functional leadership to a cross-functional team.
Experience supporting a live production system while simultaneously delivering enhancements or implementation work.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience implementing or supporting SAP S/4HANA Advanced ATP.
Experience with backorder processing, product allocation, supply protection, or other aATP capabilities.
Experience designing customer segmentation, prioritization, or differentiated order-fulfillment strategies.
Experience with quantity contracts, contract consumption, release orders, or custom contract-management functionality.
Experience evaluating custom SAP functionality and identifying opportunities to replace or simplify it using standard capabilities.
Experience with SAP Fiori applications supporting sales, fulfillment, pricing, and order management.
Knowledge of S/4HANA extensibility, APIs, IDocs, integrations, workflows, and output management.
Experience working within a global or highly complex manufacturing, distribution, or supply-chain environment.
