Job Description
AECOM Calgary is seeking a Senior Project Analyst to join our Transportation team.
The successful candidate will support Operations Managers, Program Managers, and Project Managers in the execution and delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects and programs. This role combines project delivery support, project financial management, operational reporting, proposal support, and project coordination while working closely with project teams and leadership.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support Operations Managers, Program Managers, and Project Managers in the successful execution of projects and programs.
- Compile, review, analyze, and interpret project information to support operational performance and departmental efficiencies.
- Support capture managers and project teams in fee development, pricing strategies, proposal preparation, and business development activities.
- Provide project delivery support on major programs, while working closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and project support teams.
- Assist project teams with budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, variance analysis, cash flow monitoring, and financial reporting.
- Provide guidance and support to Project Managers regarding project financial management, reporting requirements, and AECOM policies and procedures.
- Support project teams in identifying financial risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate project activities across multidisciplinary teams to support schedule, budget, and delivery objectives.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with project teams, operational leadership, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Support operational planning, project performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of projects through effective coordination, communication, and project support.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or another relevant discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience supporting project delivery, project financial management, project accounting, operations, program management, infrastructure projects, or related functions.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, PMP, P.Eng., or other relevant professional designation.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and project performance monitoring.
- Experience working with enterprise systems such as Oracle, or similar project and financial management platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex project and financial information.
- Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting transportation, infrastructure, engineering, consulting, or construction projects.
- Experience working with Program Managers, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience supporting proposal preparation, fee development, and project pricing activities.
- Knowledge of project management principles, project delivery methodologies, and project lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting project teams in financial and operational best practices.
