Senior Product Owner – Investment Positions & Data

Role Overview

A leading investment management firm is seeking a senior-level Product Owner / Investment Data professional to take ownership of position management standards and related technology across a complex, multi-asset investment platform.

This individual will sit at the intersection of Investment Operations, Investment Data, Accounting, Risk, and Technology, helping establish how position information is sourced, maintained, reconciled, and distributed throughout the investment lifecycle.

The role requires someone with strong functional knowledge of investment positions and transaction processing who can also operate as a product owner—setting standards, defining requirements, resolving complex data issues, and partnering with technology teams on platform enhancements and transformation initiatives.

• Key Responsibilities
• Own business standards and requirements related to investment position data across multi-asset portfolios.
• Define how position information is sourced, maintained, reconciled, and distributed across investment, accounting, and risk systems.
• Serve as a senior business owner for position management and investment data technology.
• Partner with Operations, Accounting, Risk, Portfolio Management, Data, and Technology teams to improve position accuracy and data integrity.
• Establish standards around intraday and end-of-day position processing, reconciliations, exceptions, and lifecycle events.
• Translate complex operational and accounting requirements into technology priorities, functional requirements, and product roadmaps.
• Support modernization and migration initiatives involving investment books of record, accounting platforms, and downstream investment systems.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies involving positions, transactions, corporate actions, FX, valuations, and other lifecycle activity.
• Help establish consistent methodologies supporting position-level P&L, valuation, performance, risk, and reporting.
• Act as a senior subject-matter expert and escalation point for complex position management and investment data issues.
• Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience within investment management, asset servicing, prime brokerage, fund accounting, investment operations, or investment data.
• Deep understanding of the trade and position lifecycle across multiple asset classes.
• Strong knowledge of IBOR, ABOR, position keeping, reconciliations, accounting, and investment data flows.
• Experience working with complex lifecycle events including settlements, corporate actions, FX activity, and position adjustments.
• Prior experience serving as a Product Owner, Business Owner, SME, or senior functional lead for investment operations or position management platforms.
• Experience with major technology transformation, platform implementation, or migration initiatives is strongly preferred.
• Ability to bridge the gap between investment/business users and technology teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with senior stakeholders across front, middle, and back-office functions.
