Job Description:

  • We are seeking a hands-on Manager of Data Science to lead a high-impact team focused on developing AI-driven solutions across a large-scale content ecosystem. This role will lead the strategy, standards, and execution of applied AI initiatives while balancing innovation with real-world constraints such as latency, scalability, reliability, and cost.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities combined with hands-on technical expertise in machine learning, large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and production-grade AI systems. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, architecture, and domain experts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Scientists and ML Engineers
  • Define and execute strategic AI initiatives and roadmaps
  • Drive applied research with a strong focus on production deployment
  • Build scalable evaluation frameworks, benchmarking pipelines, and feedback systems
  • Develop and deploy AI-powered solutions using LLMs, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows
  • Design production-grade machine learning systems and reusable AI components
  • Collaborate across teams to maximize reusability and reduce duplication
  • Contribute hands-on through coding, prototyping, experimentation, and model development
  • Establish best practices for model evaluation, monitoring, prompt engineering, and feature engineering
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to integrate AI into distributed systems
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Present technical tradeoffs and delivery options to stakeholders
  • Support continuous delivery and monitoring of AI systems in production environments
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, data, and business teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, AI, or related field
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Applied AI
  • 4+ years of leadership or team management experience
  • Strong experience with Python and ML/LLM frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, and Google ADK
  • Experience with prompt engineering and generative AI technologies
  • Strong understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and agentic workflows
  • Experience with structured and unstructured data processing at scale
  • Familiarity with vector databases, knowledge graphs, and hybrid retrieval architectures
  • Experience designing data pipelines and machine learning workflows
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, CI/CD, containerization, and model serving tools
  • Cloud experience with AWS preferred; Azure or GCP acceptable
  • Familiarity with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or OpenAI Codex

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in legal technology, legal AI, or document-intensive industries
  • Strong understanding of ethical and responsible AI practices
  • Proven experience building scalable AI platforms and production ML systems
  • Ability to lead through both technical expertise and organizational influence
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
