  • Job Title: Senior Healthcare Informatics Analyst
  • Location: Remote – Approved States Only
  • Contract Length: 6 Months
  • Position Overview
  • The Senior Healthcare Informatics Analyst independently provides analytics focused on understanding and improving how healthcare is valued, utilized, and provided.
  • This position develops analytic attributes related to patient-level health utilization and outcomes, provider performance measures, risk-adjusted revenue optimization, medical cost management, and patient/provider engagement.
  • In collaboration with other business areas and IT, this position leads problem solving, solution development, strategic planning, and decision making.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, or Computer Science
  • Four years of related experience may be used in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience
  • 4 years of healthcare, analytics, IT, or management consulting experience
  • A Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the four years of required experience
  • A Doctorate degree may substitute for an additional two years of related work experience
  • Healthcare experience is required
  • Experience building predictive models
  • Basic knowledge of the United States healthcare delivery system in a payer or provider setting
  • Strong knowledge of common query, analytic, and visualization tools such as SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, etc.

  • Ability to analyze, consolidate, and communicate complex technical topics to all levels of internal staff and external vendors
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Medicare Advantage experience
  • Trend analysis experience
  • Strong knowledge of outcome research design and controlled study design
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS, including Enterprise Miner
  • Strong understanding of provider payment methodologies, population health management, and risk adjustments
  • Strong understanding of clinical groupers, including DRG, APC, ETG, MEG, DxCg, and HCC
  • Strong understanding of quality metrics, including HEDIS and AHRQ
  • Knowledge of commercial risk optimization and MA risk optimization
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the selection of evaluation, analytics, and BI methodologies and communicate recommendations to facilitate problem solving, solution development, decision making, and strategic planning
  • Leverage clinical reporting software and models, Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) data sources, and non-EDW data sources
  • Facilitate business development, document business problems, and develop analytic solutions, including predictive models, BI solutions, and analytic attributes
  • Serve as an analytics advisor to collaborating departments on corporate and cross-functional projects, reports, and activities
  • Translate business rules into analytical models and serve as a liaison among healthcare analytics, Enterprise Information Management (EIM), IT, and business areas
  • Perform peer data quality reviews and validate data and processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Perform descriptive and analytic studies using advanced analytical and statistical techniques
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities

  • This is a remote position. Candidates must have their own equipment or equipment must be supplied by the supplier.

  • Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or West Virginia.
  • Pennsylvania: Candidates are eligible except those residing in Allegheny, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties.
