Aston Carter's large client in is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their team! This individual will be responsible for all activities involved in the reconciliation and full cycle reporting. They will reconcile the full trial balance of accounts for applicable contracts, and will provide comprehensive financial and external reporting, as well as maintain the relationship with external financial teams. This role will ensure timely remittance of premiums and receipt of claims, in line with contract due dates, and they will also respond to all enquiries relating to the contract in a finance capacity, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Premium Management - Ensure that premiums are collected into the correct trust bank and are reconciled against monthly report activity, with thorough follow-up on all variances. Propose corrective actions where needed.
  • Prepare monthly reports for external release; ensure timely upload to carrier portals within contract deadlines on a continual basis and maintain audit evidence of successful upload.
  • Manage the subledger accounts relating to the premium trust customers and vendors, ensure timely and accurate application of all payments. This includes coordinating with the internal accounting team to execute treasury activities and apply payments in the accounting system.
  • Analysis of premium and claims activities in line with the trust bank account and associated balance sheet accounts, going beyond initial reconciliation to establish the story behind the transactions and data.
  • Investigate mismatch issues in the finance system, inquiring into the GL, sales/AP or bank transactions.
  • Report and data extraction, including reconciliation to various sources.
  • Create reports to highlight issues, remediation actions and aging of non- remediation.
  • Respond to internal & external reporting inquiries, including researching the root cause of any reporting issues.
  • Establish and continually develop working relationships with insurance carriers and other external stakeholders, providing timely and accurate financial information that has been validated and is free of error.
  • Complete complex account and reconciliations and analysis, using Excel and/or Great Plains GL.
  • Identify and resolve issues independently, coordinating with the accounting team when needed to help support maintenance of the balance sheet.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

MUST HAVE

  • CPA Designated
  • 5+ years accounting/analysis experience - resolving variances through analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills - written/verbal
  • Insurance reporting experience

NICE TO HAVE

  • Power Query Experience
  • Great plains Experience

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
