Role Description This Senior Data / Systems Engineer (DoD Healthcare Programs) role is a contract, on-site position based in Fairfax, VA. The individual in this role will design, implement, and maintain data and systems architectures that support Department of Defense healthcare programs, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and optimizing system workflows, integrating data sources, monitoring system performance, and proactively identifying and resolving technical issues. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, clinical, and operations stakeholders, to translate program requirements into robust technical solutions. Additional tasks include documenting system configurations, supporting audits and compliance activities, and providing advanced technical guidance to ensure continuous improvement of healthcare systems.
Qualifications
- Strong Systems Engineering and Systems Design skills to architect, implement, and optimize complex, secure healthcare and DoD-related systems.
- Hands-on experience with System Administration and Technical Support to manage production environments and assist users and stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting to diagnose, analyze, and resolve system, network, and data integration issues in mission-critical environments.
- Experience working on DoD, federal, or highly regulated healthcare programs, including familiarity with security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, AWS/Azure) are a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Fairfax, VA, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Eligibility to work on sensitive government programs; active or attainable security clearance may be required depending on project needs.
