About the Opportunity:

The **Senior Data Scientist, AI & Model Risk** leads AI risk assessments for generative AI and large language models, ensuring their deployment is safe, compliant, and responsible. This role integrates model risk management and AI governance, collaborating with stakeholders across risk, legal, compliance, and information security. The position is central to shaping and operationalizing AI risk management processes within the organization, directly influencing how AI technologies are governed in financial services.

Responsibilities:

• • Lead AI risk assessments for generative AI and LLM use cases across the enterprise.
• • Coordinate cross-functional subject matter experts and manage assessment timelines.
• • Review AI system designs, documentation, and governance controls relevant to various banking applications.
• • Assess adequacy of pre-deployment testing including output integrity and bias evaluation.
• • Evaluate ongoing monitoring plans covering accuracy, drift detection, and remediation processes.
• • Develop and maintain templates, tools, and procedures for AI risk governance.
• • Monitor and integrate evolving AI regulatory guidance into governance practices.
• • Support responses to regulatory inquiries related to AI risk management.

Requirements:

• • Minimum of 5 years experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field; or 3 years with a Master’s; or PhD; or equivalent experience in risk, model risk, or AI risk management.
• • Proficiency in Python or similar for AI system evaluation and testing.
• • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with generative AI architectures and models.
• • Knowledge of interagency model risk management principles, including SR 26-2.
• • Familiarity with AI testing methodologies and data privacy/security principles.
• • Excellent communication skills for translating technical AI concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• • Strong analytical judgment to manage multiple assessments and prioritize risk-based decisions independently.
