Role Description The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for designing and implementing data-driven solutions that support CLIMB’s programs, community engagement, and strategic decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing member and program data, building predictive models, conducting experiments and A/B tests, and developing dashboards and reports to communicate insights to leadership and stakeholders. The role will also involve collaborating with program leads to identify measurable outcomes, improving data collection practices, and advising on metrics to track the impact of mentorship, learning initiatives, and outreach. This is a part-time remote role, requiring proactive communication, strong ownership of projects, and the ability to manage priorities independently.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in data analysis and statistical modeling, including experience with hypothesis testing, regression, and experimental design.
Proficiency in data science tools and programming languages such as Python or R, along with experience using libraries for machine learning and data manipulation.
Strong skills in data visualization and storytelling with data, using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent dashboarding and reporting platforms.
Experience working with databases and data pipelines, including SQL and best practices for data cleaning, integration, and quality assurance.
Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
Background in STEM, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience in education, community-focused organizations, or workforce development initiatives is an advantage.
