Description of Work:

• Overview
• Serve as a senior data and financial analyst supporting strategic investment and organizational decision making.
• Evaluate complex financial datasets, historical trends, and performance metrics to guide long term planning.
• Perform in-depth analysis on large datasets with the goal of identify trends and offering insights on key drivers of change
• Build and maintain data driven financial models, forecasting tools, and automated reporting pipelines using Python, SQL, and advanced analytics techniques.
• Understand Financial & Accounting structure and familiar with Labor specifically civil service system.
• Understand Oracle Financial and Hyperion System
• Collaborate with cross functional teams, requiring strong communication skills and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and modern data analysis tools.
• Apply foundational knowledge of fringe benefits (health insurance, pension, welfare, annuity) and their financial impact within the public sector.
• Develop subject matter expertise in key partner organizations such as NYCERS, NYSDOL, health insurance providers, and collective bargaining unions.

Duties:

• Evaluate complex financial datasets, historical trends, and performance metrics to guide long term planning.
• Build and maintain data driven financial models, forecasting tools, and automated reporting pipelines using Python, SQL, and advanced analytics technique
• Conduct advanced data analysis to identify usage patterns, anomalies, and emerging trends; generate automated reports and dashboards.
• Perform monthly updates of rate and enrollee data, integrating new information into historical trend analyses, predictive cost models, and forecasting frameworks
• Identify operational inefficiencies, propose data driven improvements, and develop innovative analytical solutions to strengthen financial planning processes.
• Understand Financial & Accounting structure and familiar with Labor specifically civil service system. Understand Oracle Financial and Hyperion System
