Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and scale modern data platforms for a growing oil and gas client. This role is part of a large-scale modernization project and will be responsible for architecting cloud-based data solutions, leading engineering teams, and driving best practices across data ingestion, processing, and analytics. Only candidates currently residing in Houston, TX will be considered for this role.

• Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native data architectures to support upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
• Architect and develop scalable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of data engineers.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Ensure high data quality, governance, and security standards across platforms.
• Optimize data workflows for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
• Drive adoption of modern data engineering tools, frameworks, and best practices.

• Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience implementing cloud data architecture solutions.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS, including services such as:
• S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, EMR, and/or Kinesis
• Extensive experience with Databricks, including:
• Delta Lake
• Spark-based data processing
• Workflow orchestration and optimization
• Proven experience building and managing large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and lakehouse architectures.
